165x60cm, 180x60cm. 2016.
Through large fluffy vaginas and ovaries, I am questioning how I am viewed as a young female and the aftermath of traumatic sexual experiences as a teenager. Together they generate a narrative between confusion in my gender and dysfunction in my sexuality. The two vaginas present an expectation and a reality, a before and after.
Long strands of yarn hang wildly across both pieces. Shades of pink cascade throughout, overtly gendering them before the imagery is recognised. My interests lie in the unconventional and bizarre aspects of being a female. Touch Me / (The largest piece) was exhibited in Prism Contemporary Gallery in Blackburn, 2018.
